ANNEALING POWDER

Applying corn starch to steel and other metals to prevent "stickers" during the annealing process is a common practice. While this is an industry standard, corn starch in its raw form is not very flowable and is prone to packing and bridging in the feeder hopper. Thus, causing interruptions in the application such as bursts of excessive powder or dry patches. product. The result is less “stickers” and in turn, less scrap product.

For this reason, TDC has come up with a proprietary process to make corn starch considerably more flowable. Our process virtually eliminates packing and bridging within the feed hopper and produces a more controllable, uniform, reliable, and efficient coverage on the product. The result is less “stickers” and in turn, less scrap product.
